Terms of Use
Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. Agreement and acceptance
These terms are an agreement between you and Seyfi Can Zeyrek, an individual trading under the brand Morrowline Apps, Esenyali Mahallesi 52/75 Sk. Izmir/Türkiye ("we", "us"). They cover the Hold My Fork app for iOS and Android, its home-screen and lock-screen widgets, its notifications, Premium and the related web pages at https://holdmyfork.morrowline.app. Our privacy policy at https://holdmyfork.morrowline.app/en/privacy/ explains how we handle personal data and applies whenever you use the app.
The welcome screen of the app shows the line "By continuing you agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy" with links to both under the Make a pact button. By continuing from that screen, and by downloading, installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. The app records the version of the terms you accepted and when. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Definitions
- App means Hold My Fork and its widgets and notifications.
- Service means the pact features we provide through the App and our servers.
- Pact means the agreement between you and one friend inside the App, for the length you choose when you make it (30 days by default, from 7 to 90 days).
- Friend means the person you are in a Pact with.
- Content means what you add to the App: your name, profile photo, check-ins, notes, captions, photos, fork rules, reward, reactions and weight entries.
- Premium means the paid features described in section 13.
- Stores means the Apple App Store and Google Play.
3. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 18 years old to use Hold My Fork. Your age is self-declared: before it creates your account identifier, the app asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older. By continuing you confirm it. Where an app store age law applies (for example in Texas, Utah or Louisiana), the App asks your app store instead (Apple Declared Age Range, Google Play Age Signals), you choose whether to share, and you cannot continue unless your app store confirms that you are 18 or older. The App does not verify your identity or keep your age or age range, and it does not work for anyone who is under 18. The App is not directed to children. If the law where you live sets a higher age for entering this agreement or for using an online service, that age applies.
4. Your account
The app creates an anonymous account identifier once you pass the age check, and you add your name. There is no sign-in and no email address: the account lives only on your device and cannot be recovered if you delete the app or lose your phone. There is no registration form and no password. A new phone or a reinstalled App starts a new account, and a Pact on the old account cannot be moved to it.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your device and invite codes to yourself. One account belongs to one person. You can delete your account at any time in the App under Settings > Delete account, with the effects described in the privacy policy.
5. License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for private non-commercial use, under these terms and the rules of the Store you downloaded it from. You must not copy, modify, rent or resell the App, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or bypass technical limits such as the paywall, rate limits or App Check. We and our licensors keep all rights not granted here.
6. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- Acknowledgement. These terms are between you and Seyfi Can Zeyrek, an individual trading under the brand Morrowline Apps only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, and not Apple, are solely responsible for Hold My Fork (the "Licensed Application") and its content. These terms do not override Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Scope of licence. The licence we grant you is non-transferable and limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions (including use through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple allows it).
- Maintenance and support. We, and not Apple, are solely responsible for maintenance and support of the Licensed Application, as set out in these terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
- Warranty. If the Licensed Application fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the Licensed Application to you (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the Licensed Application. Other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
- Product claims. We, and not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims by you or a third party relating to the Licensed Application or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. Nothing in these terms limits our liability beyond what the law allows.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the Licensed Application or your possession and use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights, we, and not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of the claim.
- Legal compliance. You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer contact. Questions, complaints or claims about the Licensed Application can be sent to Seyfi Can Zeyrek, an individual trading under the brand Morrowline Apps, Esenyali Mahallesi 52/75 Sk. Izmir/Türkiye, e-mail zeyrekseyfican@gmail.com.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with the third-party terms that apply when you use the Licensed Application (for example, the terms of your mobile data provider).
- Third-party beneficiaries. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right (and is considered to have accepted the right) to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google is not a party to these terms. Purchases are processed under Google Play's terms of service. These terms do not give you rights against Google.
7. Device permissions
The App asks for permissions only for the features that need them: camera and photos (iOS) to add a plate, a cover photo, a board photo or your profile photo, add-only photo access (iOS) to save a Pact film when you pick Save Video, and notifications to deliver pact notifications. You may refuse or revoke any permission at any time in your system settings. Some features stop working without the permission they need, but you do not have to allow notifications or camera access to use the core App, and nothing in the App depends on tracking. The privacy policy explains each permission.
8. The service and its limits
Hold My Fork lets two friends sign a pact (30 days by default, from 7 to 90 days), check in once a day as Held or Dropped the Fork, ask each other for help with a craving through Hold My Fork, share plate photos, an optional profile photo and, if you both choose, weight. Features, content and limits can change as we improve the Service. Some features are free and some need Premium; what a purchase unlocks is shown before you buy.
Days, held-day counts and streaks are calculated on our servers using each person's time zone, and widgets, notifications and app screens can be late or out of date. Widgets and notifications are best-effort mirrors of what the server knows and depend on your device, system settings, battery rules and connection. Widgets can show names, streak and held-day counts, check-in status, the pact reward, your pact cover photo and small plate photos to anyone who can see your screen; they never show weight.
Hold My Fork is not an emergency service and needs an internet connection; do not rely on it in a crisis. A request is not stored for later when you are offline.
The Service also depends on services run by others, such as the Stores and push notification services. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation and we do not promise any particular outcome from using the App. Information the App shows can be wrong or out of date.
9. Linked accounts and sharing
A Pact links two accounts and has two people. Linking needs your Friend's action and consent: they join with your invite link or code, and you can confirm within 24 hours that it is the person you meant or remove them. Each of you decides what you add. Anything you add to a pact (your name, profile photo, check-ins, plate photos and captions, cover photos, Hold My Fork requests and notes, reactions, pledges and, if you both choose to share it, your weight) is visible to the friend you are in the pact with.
Your weight is private unless you and your friend both choose to share it; the more private of your two choices applies, and weight never appears in notifications, widgets or share cards.
Only add another person's photo or information with their consent. Do not use the App to watch, track, pressure or shame someone who has not agreed, and do not link an account you do not control.
If you delete your account, your photos, notes, cravings and weight are removed from your friend's view as well; your friend keeps their own data and the anonymous pact counters, and you appear as Former member. Either of you can end a Pact at any time, with a short notice to the other. If you feel unsafe because of how the App is used, contact us at zeyrekseyfican@gmail.com; we can end a Pact, limit features or suspend an account.
Pact film. The App can cut a short, silent video of your Pact from a template. A Pact film is made on your phone and we do not upload it. Your friend's plates go into your film only with your friend's OK. Every film shows both friends' names, the Pact's days and counts and the reward, with or without that OK. A Pact film never contains weight. You decide whether and where to send a film, you are responsible for what you send, and sections 9 and 11 apply to it, including your Friend's privacy. Once a film has left your phone, the service you picked applies its own terms and we cannot recall it. You may share a film for personal, non-commercial purposes with the Hold My Fork strip and closing scene it carries; this gives you no other right to our marks.
10. Your content
You keep ownership of your Content. To run the Service you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize, display and transmit your Content to your Friend and to our service providers, for the time you keep it in the App and only to operate and secure the Service. You confirm that you have the rights to your Content and the consent of the people in it.
You can delete your Content in the App, including your profile photo, which you can change or remove at any time in Settings; plate photos are also deleted automatically 90 days after a Pact ends, and what happens to copies is described in the privacy policy. We may remove Content or limit access if it breaks these terms or the law.
You can hide a plate photo or your friend's profile photo, report a plate photo, a profile photo or your friend, and block your friend, which ends the pact. We aim to reply to reports within 24 hours. Names, fork rules, rewards, notes and plate captions pass an automatic word filter on our servers that blocks slurs, threats and sexual harassment. We may remove Content, end a Pact or suspend an account after a report; people review reports, and if you disagree with a decision you can write to zeyrekseyfican@gmail.com and ask us to review it.
11. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or use the App for anything unlawful;
- harass, threaten, impersonate, stalk or shame anyone, including about their body, weight or eating;
- share private information of another person without their consent;
- upload content that is sexual, exploits minors, or that you have no right to use;
- use the App to pressure anyone to skip meals or to eat in a way that harms them;
- send malware, scrape, automate access or interfere with the Service, the push system or the invite system;
- bypass limits, App Check, rate limits or the paywall, or resell access;
- break export control or sanctions law.
If you break these rules we can warn you, limit features, end a Pact or suspend your account. Report problems with the report options in the App or at zeyrekseyfican@gmail.com.
12. Health and wellness
The app is a wellness tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Hold My Fork is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a doctor or other qualified professional. Talk to a doctor before dieting or if you have a medical concern. Measurements and counts can be inaccurate. Do not rely on the app in an emergency. You use the health-related features at your own risk.
Never skip a meal: the Pact is about treats, not hunger, and you pick or write your own fork rules in your own words. If food or weight is hurting you, use the support links in the App, in Settings and in onboarding, or contact a health professional or your local emergency service.
13. Purchases and subscriptions
Premium is sold as monthly and annual subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play (the "Store"). The price is the one shown in the store before you buy. The price and billing period are shown in the Store and on the App's paywall before you buy, and taxes may apply. Premium adds the Forks Up and lock screen widgets, the Plates widget after your first Pact, the full weight history and trend, share cards without the watermark, Pact films without the Hold My Fork strip and closing scene, and your own ready replies for Hold My Fork. The Plates widget is free during your first Pact; renewing that Pact counts as a later Pact. The Pact, check-ins, Hold My Fork, Rest days, Pause, Pact films (with the strip and closing scene) and the free widgets stay free. Hold My Fork requests are free for everyone and are never behind a paywall. The paywall does not open while a Hold My Fork request is active.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Payment is charged to your Store account at confirmation of purchase and again at each renewal unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends (Apple) or before the renewal date (Google Play). Cancel any time in your Apple ID settings (App Store > Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions). Deleting the App or your account does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling you keep Premium until the end of the paid period.
One subscription covers both friends in a pact: Premium is on for both of you while the person who pays is in the pact, and only the person who subscribes is billed. You can subscribe before your Friend joins; your Friend gets Premium as soon as they join your pact. If your Friend already pays, the purchase button is hidden. If the person who pays leaves the Pact, the other person returns to the free plan unless they have their own subscription, and the person who pays keeps their subscription. When a Pact ends, Premium for that Pact ends. A refund, a payment problem or the end of a subscription returns the Pact to the free plan; your data is not deleted when Premium ends.
Refunds for purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. Ask Apple or Google for a refund; we cannot refund Store purchases ourselves. This does not affect rights you have by law. Use Restore purchases in the App with the same Store account to restore a subscription you already bought. If the price of a subscription changes, the Store tells you before the change applies and you can cancel before it takes effect. We do not store your card details; the Store processes payment.
14. Third-party services
The Stores, push notification services, the system share sheet and the links the App opens are not ours. Their terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. The privacy policy names the service providers that process data for us.
15. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the App, its design, artwork, texts, sounds, names and trademarks, including Hold My Fork, Forks Up and Pact streak. You receive no right to use our marks. If you send us feedback you allow us to use it without payment or credit. Open-source components stay under their own licences, which are listed in the App.
16. Privacy
The privacy policy at https://holdmyfork.morrowline.app/en/privacy/ explains which personal data we handle and why, and it applies when you use the App; it is not part of the licence in section 5. Users in Türkiye also receive the information notice at https://holdmyfork.morrowline.app/en/kvkk/. Your choices about diet data, weight and usage analytics are under Settings > Privacy & data > Data choices.
17. Your rights as a consumer
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live and that cannot be waived by agreement.
If you buy Premium as a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content supplied immediately, you lose this right if you expressly asked for immediate supply and acknowledged that you lose it. For digital services, if you asked us to start during the withdrawal period you pay a proportionate amount for the service used. In the Store's purchase flow you can request a refund; the Store's withdrawal or refund function is available during the 14 days.
Digital content and services must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If they are not, you may be entitled to repair, a price reduction or termination under the law of your country (in the EU the rules implementing Directives 2019/770 and 2011/83, in the UK the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
In Türkiye, your rights under Law no. 6502 on Consumer Protection and its regulations, including rights relating to distance contracts and unfair terms, remain in force.
18. Disclaimer of warranties
The app and the service are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. Rights that the law gives you and that cannot be excluded remain. For iOS, Apple's refund route in clause 4 of the Apple terms applies.
19. Limitation of liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data or loss of goodwill, to the extent the law allows. Our total liability to you for all claims about the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the event, or 50 euros if you paid nothing, to the extent the law allows.
Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intent or gross negligence, or for anything that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights. This limit does not apply to the refund route in clause 4 of the Apple terms and does not reduce your rights under clause 5.
20. Termination
You can stop using the App at any time and delete your account in the App under Settings > Delete account. Deleting the App does not delete your account or cancel a subscription.
We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect others. We tell you in advance where practical. When your access ends your licence ends, and what happens to your data is described in the privacy policy. Sections about intellectual property, liability, disputes and anything meant to continue stay in force.
21. Governing law and disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a complaint, write to zeyrekseyfican@gmail.com. We will try to resolve it within 30 days before either of us starts formal proceedings. This does not affect your right to go to court or to a consumer authority at any time.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
Courts. The courts of İzmir, Türkiye have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live, and we may bring a claim against you only in the courts of the place where you live, to the extent the law of your country says so. Consumers in Türkiye can also apply to consumer courts and consumer arbitration committees within the limits set by Law no. 6502. Small-claims procedures where you live remain available to you.
There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver in these terms.
22. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We announce changes in the App and update the date above. Material changes take effect after notice, at least 30 days later where we can. If you keep using the App after the effective date you accept the changed terms, and if you disagree you can stop using the App and delete your account. Where the law requires your consent to a change, we ask for it.
23. General
If a part of these terms is held invalid, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right, we do not waive it. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the App. We may transfer our rights and duties to a successor of our business. We give notices in the App or, where you have written to us, by e-mail. No one other than you, us and, for the Apple terms in section 6, Apple has rights under these terms.
